2003 Special Olympics World Games, Dublin

Special Olympics Ireland

First World Games outside the USA

The 2003 Special Olympics World Summer Games were hosted in Ireland, which was the first time the games were ever held outside the United States. Special Olympics is an international organization with sport competition held every two years, for people who have intellectual disabilities

The Event Services executive consulting project focused on planning support, venue capacity planning, emergency response planning and operational management support

CI’s Event Services consultants initially conducted site tours to evaluate overall event operations and also analyzed staff planning data, subsequently giving advice to organizers in these areas.

During the Games, our team assisted with Opening and Closing Ceremonies and supported individual venue operations, providing trouble shooting theatre-wide. At venues, we assisted with transport, crowd management, protocol for Heads of State and dignitaries arrival and departures, Event Services and Access Control.
