Jan Damnavits

Jan Damnavits has over two decades of experience in venue management, operations, security, and guest services for concerts, award shows, sporting events, festivals and Olympic Games worldwide.

As an operational planning and gamestime expert since 1999, he specializes in project management with a focus on service levels and client satisfaction for events as diverse as the Special Olympics and the G8/G20 Summit. His areas of expertise include venue operational planning and oversight across all functions including back of house and front of house pedestrian flow, analysis of spaces and resources, transportation requirements, workforce planning and training needs. For the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games, Jan and his team recruited, trained and mobilized over 4,000 Event Services staff and volunteers in less than 6 months. Later, as the Director of City Operations, Venue Management, Jan managed over 5,800 volunteers and management staff to execute the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. As part of the Sport and Venues senior leadership team, Jan led over 150 managers and 1,200 volunteers to plan and deliver the Venue Management, Events Services, Security and Accreditation functions for the Toronto 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games. Most recently, Jan was selected as a subject matter expert for Event Services at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.
