A team of Contemporary International senior event professionals worked with CO-RIO to support the implementation and leadership of a formal Spectator Services program for a major event for the first time in Brazil. The Pan American Games attracted athletes from 42 nations and more than 1.3 million spectators.

Initially the consultancy team, in conjunction with CO-RIO local staff, focussed on developing systems and tools related to Spectator Services operations and Workforce Training. Using specialized systems such as Rapid Venue Reviews and Resource Needs Analyses, the team was able to assess plans and implement methods to ensure that the CO-RIO Event Services workforce was ready to deliver the Games. CI also advised on content for the Rio 2007 Spectator Guide.

The CI Team trained and scheduled over 3300 volunteers at this event and also mentored and advised the Spectator Services Program Manager and Regional Operations Managers throughout the planning and operations phases.
