The 2006 Commonwealth Games attracted over 4,500 athletes from 71 countries, ranking it as one of the largest sporting events in the World.

Contemporary International’s involvement in Melbourne 2006 included a three-phase project in Spectator Services, beginning with provision of executive consultants who reviewed and assessed the planning phases for Spectator Services both at venues and in the extensive Public Domain areas associated with the Games. During the second phase, CI provided top level subject matter experts who worked within the Spectator Services area of the Organising Committee. This culminated in a full implementation of the Spectator Services function for the Games.

In addition to the Spectator Services scope, CI delivered a custom-designed general training program for Melbourne 2006 Security personnel. The training featured an innovative Train- the-Trainer segment, with hands-on practice for Trainers in a simulated Security Screening Area.
